Fundraiser to evacuate Mykolaiv riding school

The UEF-CF is raising funds to evacuate Mykolaiv riding school.

Due to the raising danger and after being hit with two rockets the Mykolaiv riding school started an urgent evacuation of all their 30 horses. The plan is to evacuate further away from the front line and horses will get shelter in the facilities of the Odessa Hippodrome.

The school was established in 1961 and since then made a great contribution to the development of the equestrian sports in Ukraine and plays an important role in the history of the Olympic Movement. For many years, riding school´s graduates have successfully represented their region and Ukraine in national and international competitions. The Olympic champion Victor Pahanovsky (jumping team gold medalist in 1980), who was the first to bring an Olympic medal to Mykolaiv, trained at this school.

It will take 5 round-trips of 170km to evacuate all 30 horses and we are already in the process of organising the operation.

UEF Chartity Foundation started the fundraiser for finding resources to cover the costs of the evacuation. Please see the “Mykolaiv riding school evacuation” fundraiser page.
